Cheer Up With Food

For my 30th birthday, I decided to celebrate it for the entire month of November.   Since I've reached this milestone in my life, why not spread out the celebration?  Here are highlights of my birthday month: Cake, Cake, Cake My coworker got me this lovely Guava Cake from Andrea's World of Cakes , thank you Fran! Hawaii Trip '16 My family and I were in Hawaii for a bit.  Being there for my birthday was not the primary reason though :p We had this 'ono (delicious) and authentic Hawaiian meal from Waiahole Poi Factory : Don't forget the chili water and Shoyu! Last weekend I attended the  James Beard Foundation's   Taste America: Las Vegas  at  The Mirage Hotel & Casino .  It was a lovely evening at this poolside gala trying out different foods and drinks.  Check out my previous post for more info.  It was great seeing the cooks and executive chefs prepare and make foods from each of their stands: There was also a silent auction on one side and food and drinks  everywhere else! This ristorante specializes in Mediterranean seafood.  There were many drinks to sample including drinks from   Southern Wine and Spirits of Nevada . #JBFTASTEAMERICA To all you food enthusiasts out there,  The James Beard Foundation's Taste America  will be hosting the  "Local Flavor from Coast to Coast" a traveling food festival coming to 10 cities this year.  It will be coming to my hometown, Las Vegas, on September 27th and September 28th. Taste America will showcase culinary all-stars and public events exploring the unique range of local cuisines in Las Vegas along with nine other cities including Boston, Chicago, LA, Miami, NYC, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.
