Cafe de Japon

We recently hit up  Cafe de Japon  a few hours ago.  After eating some of the Japanese comfort foods, I was surprised that there were no other customers around... This place should be bumpin during the weekends!   On the left I tried the Agedashi Tofu from the Daily Specials Menu.  It is hot silken firm tofu, cut into cubes, lightly dusted with potato starch or cornstarch and then deep fried until golden brown.  I've had   this dish countless of times at other places, and this was the first time the tofu stood out from the others I've had.  The toppings and the sauce that accompanied the tofu was quite delightful.   To the right is Omu Rice - It is chicken fried rice covered with egg and homemade tomato sauce on top. Fried Rice Hawaiian Style

For a week my friend, Mikey stayed at our house. One morning he made us fried rice Hawaiian style for breakfast. On the left is vegetarian style (onions, tomatoes, and Shiitake mushrooms) and to the right there's spam and an egg cooked in it. The types of fried rice I've mainly had is Hawaiian (sweet), Chinese (lightly flavored), and Filipino (soy saucy haha).

Sam Woo BBQ Restaurant

I think I've ate at Sam Woo BBQ Restauant over a hundred times. This Chinese restaurant is authentic enough to me! This last visit was special because it was Reggie's first time eating at Chinatown =) Reggie ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and Young Chow Fried Rice, Bronsen ordered his favorite lo mein dish with oyster sauce, and I ate the Turnip, Pig's Blood, and Intestines. Its not that weird for me choosing this since I grew eating the Filipino pork blood stew, Dinuguan . Reggie got excited waiting for my food haha: The intestines had a rubbery texture, but still tasted like meat. It tasted better when eating together with the turnips.
