Cheer Up With Food

It's been awhile since I've blogged about a restaurant in my hometown, Las Vegas!  Being a new parent has made me busy bee, so I have been putting up quick posts on the @CheerUpWithFood  Instagram here and there instead.  I will continue blogging when I get the chance though!   Over the weekend I dined at Other Mama .  Since I'm a big seafood lover, it was hard to decide what I wanted to try.  As you can see on Daily Specials, they offer an interesting variety of seafood: Daily Specials! I was in the mood for eating at a new restaurant and came across  Moko Tapas Bar , which specializes in Asian fusion tapas inspired by  Korean cuisine : The owner, Ryan, was very hospitable and was nice to talk to.  Ryan told us that he used to work in a restaurant at Chinatown and wanted to open up his own restaurant.  He later on partnered up with Chef Hong and they eventually opened up Moko Tapas Bar a few weeks ago.  Ryan also said Chef Hong makes everything from scratch, he will only use fresh meat (none frozen), and refuses to use a microwave! We started off with the  Chilled Cucumber Noodle  - cucumber noodle, cherub tomato, cold vegetable soup.  The cucumber noodles were fantastic with it's clear broth.  The broth was a bit sour, yet soothing.  If you like sour foods, this is for you: Eggplant Salad- grilled eggplant, cherry tomato, grilled shishito pepper, and moko dressing.  A nice, l...

A few days before the grand opening of the  Yard House @ The LINQ , I had the pleasure of having a sneak peak of the new location and sampling some of the food from their menu.  It seemed like there was an endless amount of food that kept coming over to us during the one hour I was there!  Upon walking in I was surprised how huge the first floor was.  The interior was quite sleek and had huge ceiling fans.  At this food event we were also given two free drink tickets (wish I could have used both, but had to work right after). Here are some sample of foods we had- hamburger slider (the beef was seasoned nicely and cooked medium with a bit juiciness), Shiitake Garlic Noodles (one of my favorite appetizers), New York Steak Salad (I wish there were more greens, but I know it was a sample!), and Penne with Chicken (along with crimini mushrooms, asparagus and sun-dried tomatoes in marsala cream sauce, and parmesan): Another set of foods we tried were...
