Bay Area Trip '16

Last January my husband and I went on a weekend trip to the Bay area.  When we got off the plane we were starving (as usual)!  Our friends had made a list of recommended restaurants that we should try.  So when I was looking down the list, I wanted to eat somewhere where I know we'd get full for sure.   Korean BBQ at Gogi Time was the first place I chose to satisfy our bellies. Gogi Time We came to this restaurant late at night on a weekday and it was busy- a good sign that this place was legit!  If you're not familiar with eating Korean BBQ, you get banchan   (side dishes) first to eat and share with your fellow diners.  These small dishes are usually replenished throughout your whole meal: The side dishes surrounding the grill and some vegetables that we ordered as part of our main course Some of the main dishes we ordered for us to grill: Marinated beef and chicken We didn't take much photos because we were that hungr...

San Francisco Bay Area Trip '12

Last June my fiance and I went to the SF Bay Area for a day and a half... to eat!  Well that was just one of the reasons for our short trip.  Since it was his first time visiting there, I wanted him to try as much foods as he could and we succeeded! The night we arrived, we came to this phở place, Pho Huong in San Jose. This restaurant was one of the few late night joints in town.  I remember the broth was excellent (it was not too salty, I know I say that a lot in my posts haha)! And I was glad to see they had a phở dish that only came with vegetables (for my fiance): Shrimp spring rolls I was so craving for beef.. The next morning before we headed out to San Francisco, we had brunch at Falafel's Drive - In .  We all got this special that included a falafel with a banana shake.  I loved this special!  For the first time ever the falafel was the best I've had! And the banana shake was really creamy:  ...

San Francisco Trip

Last January I went to San Francisco, I wish I stayed there longer! (click on pictures to enlarge them) These signs took up an entire wall of the Yan Yan Chinese Restaurant on Judah St. I wish I understood it: The Crepevine Restaurant filled me up with a good breakfast, I went there twice!: My friend recommended to eat at The Stinking Rose . She read my mind because I LOVE garlicy food. I ordered the Gnocchetti with Garlic gorgonzola, asparagus & toasted pine nuts and I also ate their garlic bread: I spent the whole day at Fisherman's Wharf, it was fun getting lost there. My first stop there was at Boudin Bakery : Kara's Cupcakes at Ghirardelli Square had neat cupcake designs: Japan Town was fun, I wish it was bigger. I forgot where we ate (sorry!): Sorabol was my favorite Korean fast food place. I was sad when it closed at Boulevard Mall in Las Vegas. When I was at Westfield Mall, I was happy to see the place again: ~Danica's photos~ Crepes from Crepevine: ...
