Marssa

For Valentine's Day, my Valentine surprised me by bringing me to Marssa.  I had told him I wanted to eat anywhere that had fusion cuisine, I didn't expect him to bring me to a restaurant in Lake Las Vegas! :D

The Valentine Menu 2012 - We got the same dishes except for the third course

Salmon Mango Cerviche- The salmon, mango, onions,
and flower (it was edible) was delectable.

Lobster Salad- The arugala went well with the
tender lobster meat yummm.

Crab Cakes- I wish the crab cakes were BIGGER, they were
amazingly good!  I miss them dearly.

Mu Shu Duck- Duck with a thin Asian pancake and huckleberry sauce.

Sashimi- Fine quality tuna, salmon, Yellow tail, and white fish.

Sushi Mix- Our entree! I recommend trying the Crunchy Eel, Tiger, 
and Surf and Kobe Roll 

Marssa's Special Selection- That chocolate fudge dessert on the right
was intensely rich! I never imagined chocolate being
that bold... And yes I recommend it for all you chocolate lovers!

I had such a lovely time at Marssa, thanks again my love!

Kabuto

Eating at Kabuto was a wonderful dining and learning experience for my fiance and I.  If you are truly a sushi/Japanese food enthusiast and am willing to pay $$$ for what you get, you must come to Kabuto!

We each ordered some à la carte items and the Nigiri Omakase, which includes an appetizer, ten pieces of sushi nigiri, hand roll, and dessert.  Our chef was the general manager, he's such a knowledgeable man!  He told us about the distinctive features of each fish, what his job entails, and funny stories.  I'm so glad he was our chef!

Since we sat at the bar, we were up close to see how our sushi chef worked.  He wasn't in a rush and we got to see the artistic side of how sushi is made. This made me appreciate my experience at Kabuto much more:

Herbs & Rye

After driving pass by Herbs & Rye for many years I finally went in to see what all the hype was about this place.  They serve classic cocktails that were popular during the Prohibition Era and before that time like the Gothic Age (unknown-1865) and Golden Age (1865-1900):

I loved all the drinks they made, wasn't disappointed with any of them:


Herbs & Rye also serves Italian food like flatbreads, pasta, and  they're known for the steaks they cook, I'll try some next time!  I only had the appetite to drink:

I really enjoyed my time here especially the atmosphere of a "speakeasy feel".  They get busy during the weekends so if you plan to dine in, make a reservation!

Dirt Dog

If you are a hot dog fiend, I highly suggest checking out Dirt Dog! They specialize in gourmet bacon-wrapped hot dogs.  They're originally from LA, recently opened shop here in Las Vegas and planning to open another location on The Strip:
