Diamond Chinese Restaurant

For my birthday luncheon with my family, I decided to have it at Diamond Chinese Restaurant.  Going to the restaurant at first felt a bit ominous because we were on Industrial Rd driving past many strip club joints and saw that the restaurant was located in a white building where half of it looked abandoned.  Upon walking inside, the restaurant looked nice, clean, and had a few simple decorations... At that moment the ominous feeling went away!

The foods we ordered were Sauteed Scallops, Sizzling Seafood Combination, House Chow Mein, Mixed Vegetables Lo Hon Style, and Deep Fried Crispy Chicken.  All these dishes exceeded my expectations!  Each dish was flavorful which made it quite a wonderful meal. Diamond is truly a hole a in the wall restaurant... It's like a gem hidden in a place you wouldn't expect to find it in!

Kabuto

Eating at Kabuto was a wonderful dining and learning experience for my fiance and I.  If you are truly a sushi/Japanese food enthusiast and am willing to pay $$$ for what you get, you must come to Kabuto!

We each ordered some à la carte items and the Nigiri Omakase, which includes an appetizer, ten pieces of sushi nigiri, hand roll, and dessert.  Our chef was the general manager, he's such a knowledgeable man!  He told us about the distinctive features of each fish, what his job entails, and funny stories.  I'm so glad he was our chef!

Since we sat at the bar, we were up close to see how our sushi chef worked.  He wasn't in a rush and we got to see the artistic side of how sushi is made. This made me appreciate my experience at Kabuto much more:

Last note: Finding this place was also a learning experience for us, you may get aggravated looking for it in the strip mall... Kabuto is there! AND it's important to make a reservation before coming in because Kabuto is a very …

Herbs & Rye

After driving pass by Herbs & Rye for many years I finally went in to see what all the hype was about this place.  They serve classic cocktails that were popular during the Prohibition Era and before that time like the Gothic Age (unknown-1865) and Golden Age (1865-1900):

Here's an example of of some of the drinks:

I loved all the drinks they made, wasn't disappointed with any of them:

Herbs & Rye also serves Italian food like flatbreads, pasta, and  they're known for the steaks they cook, I'll try some next time!  I only had the appetite to drink:

I really enjoyed my time here especially the atmosphere of a "speakeasy feel".  They get busy during the weekends so if you plan to dine in, make a reservation!

Dirt Dog

If you are a hot dog fiend, I highly suggest checking out Dirt Dog! They specialize in gourmet bacon-wrapped hot dogs.  They're originally from LA, recently opened shop here in Las Vegas and planning to open another location on The Strip:
