SATAY Asian Bistro & Bar

I enjoyed my second visit to SATAY , the food was superb, I loved the music that was played, and the service was prompt! Me and the guys tried Grilled Calamari Satay - marinated and grilled calamari served with sweet and spicy garlic lime sauce. I liked how the calamari was grilled, the texture was fine and the sauce was sublime: The guys had Singha beer from Thailand: Garlic Shrimp - Stir fried Thai style shrimp in their Chef's garlic sauce with Coconut Fragrance Rice : Honey Walnut Shrimp - pan fried shrimp topped with honey mayonnaise and walnuts with white rice: Crispy Chow Mein - Crispy pan fried noodles, vegetables, and shrimp topped with gravy:

End of the Semester Celebration

My class and I celebrated the last week of Anatomy & Physiology II and Microbiology. Thanks to my classmates for getting these cakes: Thanks Dr. C. for teaching us! Tres Leches Cake

Angelina's Pizzeria

Angelina's Pizzeria is my neighborhood pizza place to go! They have good deals and I love the cheeses they put in their pizzas and pastas. I usually get their mushroom pizzas:

Fried Rice Hawaiian Style

For a week my friend, Mikey stayed at our house. One morning he made us fried rice Hawaiian style for breakfast. On the left is vegetarian style (onions, tomatoes, and Shiitake mushrooms) and to the right there's spam and an egg cooked in it. The types of fried rice I've mainly had is Hawaiian (sweet), Chinese (lightly flavored), and Filipino (soy saucy haha).

Cheesecake Factory

The Cheesecake Factory is one of my favorite restaurant chains ever! The reason why I adore this place is that they serve foods from different parts of the US and ethnic foods. I  l o v e  the quality of the ingredients used in their foods. For our appetizer we tried the Vietnamese Spring Rolls - made with rice paper rolled around asparagus, Shiitake mushrooms, carrots, rice noodles, green onion, cilantro and shrimp: My meal was The Incredible Grilled Eggplant Sandwich - comes with roasted red peppers, red onion, melted Mozzarella and garlic aioli on a toasted bun. The name did fit my meal: Mikey had the Orange Chicken - deep fried pieces of chicken breast covered in a sweet and spicy orange sauce with white rice and vegetables: Bronsen had Garlic Noodles - made with spaghettini, shrimp, asparagus, Shiitake mushrooms, tomatoes, and parmesan in garlic sauce: Last and not least, we got cheesecakes! To the left is Adam's Peanut Butter Cup Fudge Ripple - creamy cheese

Apfelwein

A few weeks ago, the men of my household gathered up ingredients to make Apfelwein , a German apple cider. I think they'll wait 3 months for it to brew, then we'll finally drink it! For now, I'll just watch the yeast inside bubble up:

Hard Rock Cafe

My favorite part about Hard Rock Cafe is the type of drinks they serve. They have many alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to choose from. I had this fruity drink a couple months ago: On Melissa's 21+3 birthday, I had a Grilled Granny Smith Apple & Provolone Burger - topped with sweet maple mustard, lettuce, grilled Granny Smith apple slices, caramelized onions, bacon, and melted Provolone cheese. I never had a burger with apples before, it was an interesting combo:

The Saucy Tomato

One rainy night when me and my fiancé were craving for good pizza, we visited The Saucy Tomato . We were lucky to come in after their busy hours. We got a good seat at the bar and watched our pizza be made. Our pizza pie was a half of Pesto Veggie - Sun dried tomato, mushrooms, red onions, artichoke hearts, roasted garlic, red peppers, zucchini and fresh scallions on a basil pesto base. Topped with mozzarella, smoked provolone and Pecorino Romano Cheese and half of Kronos Vegan - Spinach, cooked tomatoes, roasted garlic, roasted pine nuts, Nicoise olives, red onions, red bell peppers, lemon zest, kosher sea salt, and fresh basil on herb and garlic oil base. Eating this pizza felt refreshing, it wasn't super greasy like some major pizza chains. Eating this pizza also made me feel like I didn't have to go to Chicago or New York to eat an authentic pizza! I'll be coming here more!

Whole Foods

I'm generally a health nut when it comes to eating foods. If a Whole Foods Market was in my neighborhood, I'd die of happiness! I love how they have a hot and cold food bar of vegetarian and vegan foods. If I'm lazy to cook, I'd definitely get ready made meals from here often:

Lotus of Siam

Lotus of Siam is a Thai restaurant that I've always wanted to go to since high school. There were previous attempts of going there, but it was always closed! This time I finally planned going there by checking their open hours. If you see the restaurant from the outside, it looks a bit plain, but the interior is opposite, far from plain! I felt comfortable being there. Since me and Reggie had never been to Lotus of Siam before, we couldn't decide what to try. Our waitress was kind enough to give a list of recommendations and since there wasn't a lot of vegetarian items, she said she'd make our foods meat-free ! We shared an appetizer consisting of tofu, green onion, cilantro, red onions, and cucumber. The spiciness of this salad was a delight: We also shared a meal of Drunken Noodles with Shrimp . The Drunken Noodles were greasily full of flavor, I'm glad our waitress made this recommendation:
