Cheer Up With Food

Picture waking up in the morning and you're starving for a delicious breakfast.  Eggs, hash browns, toast, and a delicious cup of coffee.  If I'm in Tucson, I already know I'm hitting up Jerry Bob's . You walk in and you'll see that the staff is always nice and they'll tell you to sit wherever.  Service is super quick and if you're into couponing, check out the newspaper because Jerry Bob's always hooks it up with coupons in there. Yay coupons! I think I've ordered everything off of this menu at least once!   On this visit I had the Bacon Cheeseburger, it was juicy and deelish. A yummy hot cocoa topped with whipped cream. There are buffets all over Las Vegas especially in the casinos/hotels.  With buffets, you should explore around to find ones that appeals to you the most.  A place I recommend eating at is  The Buffet  at the Wynn , which is one of my favorite high-end buffets on the Strip :  The meal times and prices: The whimsical-like decor:  This was one of the plates I stuffed myself with.  There are 15 (or 16?) stations there, which include salad, Asian, dessert, seafood, meat carving, Mexican, and Italian.  So there's something for everyone:

Every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am-3pm,  Border Grill  has a brunch special of all-you-can-eat tapas for $35 and Bottomless Mimosas for $8.  This is a deal that's too hard to ignore!  Its so nice to sample a variety of Mexican style dishes all in one setting, they're all excelente!  From what I remember, some of the foods I had in this photo were Green Corn Tamales , Peruvian Shrimp and Grits, and  Biscuit and Sausage Gravy: I also like how Border Grill promotes sustainability .  They serve only sustainable seafood, use meats from animals who weren't raised on antibiotics, has developed a program called, " Good For The Planet, Good For You ", and uses a Natura Water purification system. A breakfast/lunch joint that's worth giving a try is  Eat.  in Downtown.  This place caters to those who prefer traditional meals and to those who are adventurous.  Either way, these meals are wholesome!  Also, Chef Natalie adds a French culinary twist to her foods, using the freshest, sustainable, and locally-sourced, organic ingredients, whenever possible: Fresh-Brewed Passion Fruit Iced Tea- the flavors were wonderfully blended together. Beignets w/ Homemade Jam and Vanilla-Scented Mascarpone- our waitress suggested us to try these popular delights.  They were fluffy, not greasy, and the jam and butter complemented these beignets .  These are a must-haves! Downtown Benedict - poached eggs , turkey bacon, spinach, tomato and herbed hollandaise on a whole wheat muffin.  This is a healthier twist to a traditional dish!   28GO The Restaurant  is an interesting Asian fusion restaurant.  You can tell just by looking at their menu .  Foods offered range from ramen (you have the choice of mixing broths together), tapas, stuffed waffles, and more: Yellow Fin Poke Stack- consists of fresh cubed tuna, tossed in sesame soy, seaweed salad, and crispy gyoza skin on a bed of romaine lettuce.  This was a big serving for a tapa! Stuffed Waffles - Sweet Curry Chicken with potatoes, carrots, served w/ two eggs, and their special ketchup.  This stuffed waffle was awesome... I'd never think of putting sweet curry in a waffle! If you have a serious sweet tooth I recommend trying a Waffle Ice Cream- Vanilla ice cream with warm butter syrup.  Our waiter, Xalan, who was also the general manager, was very kind and told us how some of the foods were made.  It was cool to hear how much work is put into making these foods.  PS:...

My friends had invited my fiancé and I to try a new restaurant, Bread & Butter  for breakfast.  I wanted to go, but I declined because I had to finish up on some studying.  Later on in the day, my fiancé asked if I wanted to go to Bread & Butter for dinner because our friends were going back there to eat!  Well I was convinced to go during my 'study break' since my friends were hardcore enough to go to Bread & Butter twice in one day. We were all greeted by the owner Chris who told us to make ourselves at home.  He also told us that the foods here are made from scratch and the restaurant menu is not the same every day, so he likes to get feedback from his customers on the Bread & Butter's  Facebook fan page to get ideas on what to make for future days/weeks... For the longest time my fiance had been raving about the home brewed root beer from Big Dog's Bar and Grill and wanted to take me there. This is the only root beer he'll drink! So I went with him to see for myself how awesome this drink was... Their home brewed root beer was so smooth, I enjoyed it :) We ate a nice dinner too. Their food was better than I expected! I had the HOLY COW! REUBEN - Corned beef, slowly cooked with their Holy Cow! Original Pale Ale, sliced and served on grilled rye with hot sauerkraut, Swiss cheese & 1000 Island: Bronsen had B OLD FASHION FISH AND CHIPS - Traditional battered Icelandic Cod, fried golden brown and served with homemade tartar sauce, lemon wedge, fresh slaw and fries:

The morning I went to Hash House a Go Go , I came starving because they serve ridiculously huge servings of food! There was a 40 minute wait, but I didn't care! I had driven a long way just to eat there: The long wait was worth it!  This was my  Hash House Quesadilla - stuffed w/ potatoes, jalapenos, eggs, tomato, chili cream: My Mango Coconut Flapjacks - with eggs and crispy potatoes. This was 2X wider than my waist: The damage: I love the quality and amount of flavor they put in their foods, I can't wait to go back to Hash House a Go Go again :)
