Bay Area Trip '16

Last January my husband and I went on a weekend trip to the Bay area.  When we got off the plane we were starving (as usual)!  Our friends had made a list of recommended restaurants that we should try.  So when I was looking down the list, I wanted to eat somewhere where I know we'd get full for sure.   Korean BBQ at Gogi Time was the first place I chose to satisfy our bellies. Gogi Time We came to this restaurant late at night on a weekday and it was busy- a good sign that this place was legit!  If you're not familiar with eating Korean BBQ, you get banchan   (side dishes) first to eat and share with your fellow diners.  These small dishes are usually replenished throughout your whole meal: The side dishes surrounding the grill and some vegetables that we ordered as part of our main course Some of the main dishes we ordered for us to grill: Marinated beef and chicken We didn't take much photos because we were that hungr...

Café Zupas at Summerlin

I  again went to another  Cafe Zupas ' VIP dinner event this time at their new west side location along Lake Mead Blvd.  I'm glad that Cafe Zupas is expanding, their food is so worth trying!  The event was pretty much the same compared to the last event on Eastern Ave.: we chose our meal, we all ate, and a trivia game occured througout the event resulting in a lot of prizes given out! I was impressed with the food and service of this location!  If you didn't know, they make some of their foods from scratch, you can definitely taste the freshness with every bite!  I had tried the Pesto Chicken - This sandwich comes with chicken, their homemade pesto sauce, almonds, roasted sweet peppers, muenster cheese , sprouts, and tomatoes.  This was definitely one of the best sandwiches I've had because I tasted many flavors at once which blended all quite well! Wisconsin Cauliflower - Cheddar and Pepperj...

Café Zupas on Eastern Ave.

Last week I attended  Cafe Zupas ' VIP party for local bloggers and tech-savvy food lovers.  I really didn't know what to expect only that I knew that they specialize in sandwiches, soups, and salads, and that they're based from Utah.  Upon arriving we were greeted by the staff, who were all friendly and knowledgeable.  They suggested for us to choose the Try 2 Combo.  I decided to go with a sandwich and salad and my husband chose a sandwich and soup: The salads were made right in front of us: They let us choose our own desserts: Our meals: I got the Thai Mango Chicken Salad .  I was surprised by how much flavor was in every bite!  This came with chicken, mango, Thai peanut sauce, bell peppers, red onions, peanuts, wonton strips, iceberg lettuce, and House-Made sesame ginger dressing.  Even though there wasn't too much dressing and Thai peanut sauce, they absolutely were the reasons that made this salad amazing...

Bread & Butter

My friends had invited my fiancé and I to try a new restaurant, Bread & Butter  for breakfast.  I wanted to go, but I declined because I had to finish up on some studying.  Later on in the day, my fiancé asked if I wanted to go to Bread & Butter for dinner because our friends were going back there to eat!  Well I was convinced to go during my 'study break' since my friends were hardcore enough to go to Bread & Butter twice in one day. We were all greeted by the owner Chris who told us to make ourselves at home.  He also told us that the foods here are made from scratch and the restaurant menu is not the same every day, so he likes to get feedback from his customers on the Bread & Butter's  Facebook fan page to get ideas on what to make for future days/weeks... What a great concept! We came on a 'customize your own grilled cheese sandwich' night.  The small menu had a variety of breads, cheeses, vegetables, and some meats to c...
