Birthday Month!

For my 30th birthday, I decided to celebrate it for the entire month of November.   Since I've reached this milestone in my life, why not spread out the celebration?  Here are highlights of my birthday month: Cake, Cake, Cake My coworker got me this lovely Guava Cake from Andrea's World of Cakes , thank you Fran! Hawaii Trip '16 My family and I were in Hawaii for a bit.  Being there for my birthday was not the primary reason though :p We had this 'ono (delicious) and authentic Hawaiian meal from Waiahole Poi Factory : Don't forget the chili water and Shoyu! There's been many poke bowl shops poppin' up in Vegas.  But none yet that I've been to can beat the OG poke bowls from Hawaii!  Pictured here are poke bowls with simply marinated raw fish and rice.  We also had some sashimi and musubis from Foodland Farms : Li Hing Mui Frost from Frostcity :                   Th...

Bay Area Trip '16

Last January my husband and I went on a weekend trip to the Bay area.  When we got off the plane we were starving (as usual)!  Our friends had made a list of recommended restaurants that we should try.  So when I was looking down the list, I wanted to eat somewhere where I know we'd get full for sure.   Korean BBQ at Gogi Time was the first place I chose to satisfy our bellies. Gogi Time We came to this restaurant late at night on a weekday and it was busy- a good sign that this place was legit!  If you're not familiar with eating Korean BBQ, you get banchan   (side dishes) first to eat and share with your fellow diners.  These small dishes are usually replenished throughout your whole meal: The side dishes surrounding the grill and some vegetables that we ordered as part of our main course Some of the main dishes we ordered for us to grill: Marinated beef and chicken We didn't take much photos because we were that hungr...

Jerry Bob's

Picture waking up in the morning and you're starving for a delicious breakfast.  Eggs, hash browns, toast, and a delicious cup of coffee.  If I'm in Tucson, I already know I'm hitting up Jerry Bob's . You walk in and you'll see that the staff is always nice and they'll tell you to sit wherever.  Service is super quick and if you're into couponing, check out the newspaper because Jerry Bob's always hooks it up with coupons in there. Yay coupons! I think I've ordered everything off of this menu at least once!   On this visit I had the Bacon Cheeseburger, it was juicy and deelish. A yummy hot cocoa topped with whipped cream. Hot tea set-up Half ham and cheese omelette, scattered hash browns, and choice of toast. Mickey Mouse Pancakes and a side of sausage patties. It's always a good idea to share biscuits and gravy with someone. Jerry Bob's has mu...
